Mine has slipped once, off road, pulling an 19,000 lb trailer up a 400 foot long, 30 degree slope. (I call it the driveway)
Went to Dodge and they flushed all the burnt fluid out of it, re-tightened the very loose bands. No metal fragments, just poor adjustment, but you could smell the heat and the fluid was scorched.
They have an TSB on this and an upgraded tranny built using a Banks converter, put together by Mopar Performance, but it's $3,800 from the dealer....but may possibly be covered by warranty because the 47RE has been discontinued....= )
My Chassis/Cab weights nearly 10,000 lbs "empty" before I put anything inside the bed.
