I beleive the '72 was the only year the 340 was externaly balanced. All 360's are external and I'm pretty sure all 318's are internal. The 340 is a muscle car engine....not a truck motor unless you plan on makin it a hot rod.
And it still is the engine to have for small block Mopars! Stroked out they'll hit 400+ cubic inches....that's big block territory!
