Don't qoute me but my brother had 1973 340 Duster that had a broken balancer that was huge. It was thicker than a 318 or 360 balancer which leads me to believe externally balanced. Norm is right it is a high reving engine, with a Thermoquad on top that Duster would fly. You can't beat the torgue of a Poly 318 for a truck.
