The casting number just says it is a 383 block, and all the references I can find show that casting number to be for 1959-1971 383s, no further breakdown.

Since your engine has a casting date of 1968 it should have another pad on the passengers side lower rail of the engine, that pad will have more numbers that can be used to ID the application. Look at the attached image to see that location.

Get me the numbers off the other two pads and I will do my best to ID them for you.
