My uncle bought a new Ford 500 from the dealer. Drove it home and some of the electrical things wouldn't work. He thought it was just him and he'd read the manual on how to operate. After a week of trying and still not working he gave up. Drove it a few times in that week and it started running rough too so off to the dealer.
When in the waiting room the service manager came out and asked if he'd worked on it or had it worked on to which he replied no. Service manager said the battery cables had been reversed! They went out on the lot and found 6 more the same way.
My question is HOW did it start? I thought starters were DC and wouldn't it turn backwards?
I know, that's what he gets for buying a Ford but this one has me stumped. Dealers replacing all that's bad but I suggested to him to make them take it back because who knows what has been damaged and won't show up for awhile.
Can someone enlighten me on this? ThanKs, Kevin
