Hi Bill,
You dont single out any individual or individuals as gouging for parts, which I think is good for this discussion.
I sell parts as I can, to support my Power Wagon hobby. I try to be fair with my prices, but I agree, if its sold as a Power Wagon part it will be higher than if it was for a Dodge Omni. I spent this last weekend stripping out a 64 D-100, I will store these parts, possibly for years, doling them out as people need them. I have spent tons of time (often to the disapproval of my Wife) and money finding old hulks, getting them home stripping them down, cleaning parts, often sandblasting and priming them in the hopes that someone will need this stuff. Organised storage is important so I can lay my hands on a part when someone needs it. Not everyone who has a Power Wagon has the desire to have a couple of parts trucks littering his yard, nor the ability to store the parts they probably will never need. In this way I feel I provide a service to the Power Wagon community, and in return the parts sales allow me to remain in the PW community. I wouldnt get too far asking my Wife for money every time my truck needs something new!
Tim
