Go read the blogs at Chrysler LLC and add your comments to the many here who have gone there and asked for diesels.
There will be diesels in 2009 and 2010 models. The Grand Cherokee has a 3.0 right now and logically the Commander will follow.
They have a joint development 2.0 turbo diesel for small cars coming for the Caliber and others. Cummins has over a million test miles on the new 4.2 V-6 that will go into the Ram 1500. In order to get the proper amount of testing and to meet the 2010 emission requirements, it takes years to get these motors to market. Cummins has been working on the new motors since 1997.
Go read the blogs, especially the blog by President Jim Press, and you will see that Chrysler is committed to leading the industry in diesel technology, bio diesel and diesel hybrids.
If you read
