replacement material ideas for wooden flatbed floor?

The wooden floor on my flatbed is rotten and full of holes,wood has shrunk. I asked how much it would cost to replace with 1/2 aluminum(non) 12 by 10 feet diamond plate. $3,000. someone suggested 1/2" plastic sheets. I guess just put some new wood down,cheaper. Any ideas? Thanks
