We returned this afternoon from our 315 mile tour of the Potomac Highlands of West Virginia. This trip really could not have gone any better. Except for the flat tire I had 20 miles south of town and the busted oil line on Tim's W100, the trucks performed admirably. Hard to believe that each truck had recently been driven just 10 miles before the trip. Joel's truck did great the whole time, with nothing but a bad ground in the cowl light. Wendel went through about a quart of oil per hundred miles, largely due to a rear main seal. (Let me know if anyone with experience can help with this repair.)

The scenery was truly exceptional, from the lush hardwood forests of Blackwater Canyon, to the rugged outcrop of Seneca Rocks and the barren tundra of Dolly Sods. Don Tucker met us up on "The Sods" with his WC-1 in fine military trim.

As for the Hackensaw Boys at The Purple Fiddle, all I can say is you missed one helluva show! Tim's leatherman tool made a timely appearance, repairing the Charismo [spelling?], in time for the next round of lighting fast bluegrass percussion. Mellissa sure can dance, take my word for it!

See you next time. Pictures and more to come...
