There were thousands used as fire trucks (brush trucks) by all sorts of agencies world wide. I have found that no one really has a whole lot of interest in them when they are restored for re-sale as a brush truck. The market tends to lean towards original look, or modified beyond recognition. Those of us that do restore them as brush trucks have a great audience for looking at them, but when it comes time to sell, the interest tends to go away. I've had my share of them, and almost each one was retored back to factory original prior to fire modifications. On the antique fire truck curcuit, there a big hit. Sometimes though, there are some fire truck power wagons that should stay the way they are. The stories they can tell are all in the way they look after years of use. I my self owe my life to a few of these as I would not be here writing this now, had they not been able to get me away from running flame fronts in the S.Jersey Pine Barrens. A most noble vehicle indeed....
