Another productive day getting the truck ready for next weekend.

- Put fresh gaer oil in the transmission with some Lucas HD Oil Stabilizer. Third gear still has a fierce growl, but not quite as bad as yesterday.

- Put fresh oil in the engine with a bottle of Bars Leaks. The pan has some sludge and will have to be pulled for cleaning at some point. Rear main seal leaks also, but engine runs really good after setting the valves.

- Located a broken vacuum line at the driver's side wiper motor. Reconnected the line and both wipers work great. Just need some new blades after 53 years!

- Cut the white oak rails to fit the frame and sealed 'em with Watco Exterior Wood Finish.

- Fixed a leak at the gas tank sending unit with some silicone and put some Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas.

- John and John and my brother-in-law came over and we mounted the flatbed. Just need to strap it down with some all-thread rods.

- Mounted the front fenders and rewired the headlights. Cowl lights are not working, may just need bulbs.

- Mounted the running boards and tow hooks.

Whew! Next job is to rig up tail lights and maybe some turn signals.
