I get requests for all sorts of things, Media Mail shipping, reduced value on international shipments, etc. I do not do that sort of thing, I ship to much stuff to take the risk.
I pack everything in new boxes with new packing peanuts, etc. Those supplies cost money, and while I used to wrap everything in used boxes, padded with crumpled newspaper, the time and energy expended in gathering the materials and packing that way soon became too much. With new materials I can pack much faster, and be more consistent with the packing quality.
It was taking so much time to gather the materials and pack items that I would have had to start charging for my time or go out of business. Now I go to one store and buy everything I need, and I know exactly what will fit in each box. I also used to ship everything the cheapest method possible to save buyer money, now I ship everything Priority Mail, as it almost eliminated complaints about delayed packages.
Now I only get complaints from people that choose Parcel Post or Media Mail, they save a couple bucks up front, and then complain on the back end. I guess there is no pleasing everyone!
