That is huge, as the Press Conference for the Journey (JZ) has already been held. Tooling is in place and cars were scheduled to start rolling down the line in a few months. It does seem a waste as it looks just like the Caliber, but is the size of the Nitro.
One error in the story, the Commander isn't the same size as the Grand Cherokee, it IS the Grand Cherokee and the Durango is larger, see the comments to your last post about this below.
Jim Press was the highest ranking American at any foreign auto maker, as head of Toyota he took them from 6th to near number 2 world wide, he "gets it".
The next few years are going to be painful for Chrysler, but there is a glimmer of hope that quality and products actually can sell American vehicles once again.
