That's the correct answer!
Often names are taken but are not "up" on an active web site. Typing the name into your browser just takes you to a "broker" site.
Predatory companies register names, but do not have a web site, they're just waiting to make money when "Larry'sShoes.com" goes to internet sales.....
Register.com will tell you the specifics of any domain name.
