As the one legged man at the arse-kicking contest, I have read stories like this that are TRUE! Believe me, that would more than ruin your whole day.....
I almost did the marker thing, but trusted the doctor since I already had an exposed shin bone.
Often mistakes are made when an x-ray gets flipped around and right becomes left.
By the way, hope the eye heals up, that is nasty!
