Technically, so are the Sweptlines, and in general all Dodges are rated for higher work loads than ferd and gm.
That being said, half ton springs and half ton Corporate axles were lighter, his drivetrain shows signs of poor maintenance and a big right foot, in his case he is better off getting too much truck (300 series) for a Cummins, or just installing the correct u-joints in his 100.
1/2 ton axles and 1/2 ton springs are doomed to early fatigue when used as a work truck.
