I can relate, 2 years ago wearing safety glasses riding a bike in the woods I had a branch slice my eyelid open, came in underneath the glasses. Cut the cartelidge under the eyelash too. ER doc said no way, I'm calling an eye surgeon, who left a fancy restaurant to come in. He stitched it twice, didn't like the first attempt and pulled them all out, and got different tools. It's fixed though. No eyeball damage at all, which was surprising given the damage to my eyelid. So yes, accidents happen all the time. Glad to hear you're doing good, get well soon, get the house done for your dad! Oh yeah, goggles only in the woods now! Lesson learned, the hard way.
