M-series vehicles never have locks on either the doors or the ignition for just that reason. If you're in the middle of a battle and the enemy's stealing your trucks, you've already got bigger problems. If they put locks on them, you'd be yelling "Incoming! Who's got the keys?" Standard M-series door locks can be locked from the inside by pushing the handle down, but they can't be locked from the outside. I guess the theory is the enemy can't open the door and pull you out and steal your truck or something, though it seems to me if the enemy was close enough to open the door, he would have already shot you.

I did find out the hard way, however, that if you shut the door with the inside handle down, the door will lock. I don't know if they're meant to be that way or the mechanism was worn. Fortunately the back window doesn't lock and I could slide it open and get in and unlock the door.
