I went to the "good" NAPA store in Spokane, the one that has the big warehouse with more stuff in stock than any other one. I got one of the "old guys" at the counter. I asked him for water pump grease and told him Lubriplate makes it. He took me over to the shelf and showed me a pack of "Bars Leak" tablets. I said that wasn't want I wanted. I said I wanted was grease to put in the cup to grease the water pump bearings. He took the package and showed me where it says it lubricates water pump bearings. I said no, that's radiator leak plugger, not grease. He still persisted in telling me that whenever they get a rebuilt radiator, it comes with some of those tablets and it's really good stuff. I do believe the old guys are getting younger every day, and some of them have never seen a water pump that uses grease. It was weird how persistent he was about trying to sell me the leak plugger pills.
