Long, long ago, I used "(408)558-7400" and got through to a real person who actually solved whatever the problem was. It took a whole lot of dead-end calls before I got there, though.
The "Economist" magazine, which is about as mainstream conservative as you can get, just had an article absolutely reaming Meg Whitman, the boss of Ebay. I for one would sure be happy to see them taken down a notch. They keep raising their fees, making it harder and harder for the small individuals to do business there, banning more and more categories of perfectly legal merchandise, while giving scammers free reign to steal people's identities, sell stuff they don't own, and ruin the reputation of on-line sales in general.
