The front end was totally rebuilt except for the steering. There was no play that I could find. The tires were put on the truck 20 years ago and were brand new at the time but the truck sat in a garage and was never driven that entire time. I figured any flat spots would be "driven" off. I've put about 200 miles on the truck.
