Please refer to the photo of the pintle hitch. It is different from the typical tractor store offering.

I was surprised when a friend, who is intensely into old trucks and tractors, pointed out the unique method of operation of the pintle hook on my 1954 PW. Since I own a trailer queen, I have never used my hitch for anything other than a DNA-collection device, when whacking my shinbone in a dark barn.

He demonstrated to me how easy it is to engage and disengage the particular model on my truck. The moving part is hinged so that it falls down, rather than needing to be raised. This allows a trailer to be hitched/unhitched more easily, as the trailer's lunette does not need to be raised over the bottom fixed part that is typical of the standard hitch.

He asked me if I knew the model and manufacturer. I replied that I didn't, but I would ask the experts on this Forum.

So, question #1...is this hitch typical for a PW?

Q # 2...do we know who made it, and can we find more?

Q # 3...do they come in bigger sizes?

Thanks for any insight into this quest.
