If you want to start them up from time to time, take them out on the road. DO NOT just idle them until the choke comes off, then shut them down for a few months. What that does is when the choke is on, you are washing the oil off the cylinders due to the rich mixture. Plus, the rich mix is making loads of carbon. So run them until they get good and warmed up, to cook the gas and water condensation out of the engine. If you must let them idle, run them at high idle for looong times.
