What's the first two things a doctor does when you go in with a new problem?

1. he takes your temperature.

2. he takes your blood pressure.

MEDICAL SCIENCE KNOWS THAT WITHOUT KNOWING THESE TWO BASIC READINGS, ANY DIAGNOSIS IS SPURIOUS.

We (or should I say "I" since there seem to be other "experts" here who disagree) cannot begin to analyze an automotive electrical problem without first knowing the basic readings of the vehicle's battery and alternator.

All the hand-waving, old wives' tales, and potions won't get us any nearer to the solution.

START WITH THE BASICS:

IDLE VOLTAGE ___________ VOLTS

CHARGING VOLTAGE ______________ VOLTS

Let us know what you find. (This is a recording.)
