on the 435 the input shaft length changed in 1969 when they went with the mechanical clutch linkage, so if you have the hydraulic clutch set up you need the 1968 and earlier 435. The input shaft is about 1" longer than '69 and up. My truck has a 435D1 which has a 4.56 to 1 first gear ratio as opposed to the standard 6.68. Some guys have a 435D3 that has a different third gear than standard.
