It is a special grease. It took me a while to locate it an that was 20 years ago. Can't remember what it was called short fiber water pump grease? Call andy Bermbaum , Roberts Motor Parts or Vintage Power Wagons they should be able to tell you what it is and where to get it. Don't let anyone tell you use regular chassis grease, that is not true!The pump was constructed to use the special grease no problems with 49 Plymouth
