If the rubber has a 'set' to it or curl to it you might try soaking it in very hot water. I work with nylon sheet and when it comes in a coil it wont lay flat so we put the nylon in hot water and the curl relaxes and lays flat. I haven't tried it with windshield seal so it may not work. Just something to try.
