540s have PTOs on both sides, and the cases are 13" long. That's longer than a NP435 (10.875"), a GM SM465 (12"). But I think a NP445 is also about 13" long. A NP445 is "close" to a 540 with one gear taken out.
My NP540 has a case # C95871 but I think that's specific to its' GM bolt pattern.
