I've got a WC12 I am getting ready to (try to) start. It Hasn't run since who knows when but the engine is free. It has the military oil filter canister and I found a filter for it okay but I noticed the center tube in the cannister only has one approx. 1/16" hole in it.
If I'm looking at things right, the oil pump pumps into the tube from the bottom and all of the oil flow has to go through that hole in the center tube, into the center of the filter and out the line on the outside of the cannister to the block. It's been years since I have worked on this vintage of vehicle, is that right? I don't have any books, and am not sure all equipment is correct for the truck.
Should there be more than one hole in the center tube? 1/16" seems awful small. Any help from you guys that know more about it than me would be appreciated.
