No I don't believe you can do that. the 360 is externally balanced on the flywheel or torque converter and the 318 is internally balanced. My brother once bought a 79 chrysler newport a gas sation put in a 360 where there once was a 318 and they didn't know why it wouldn't run above idle and it ran rough. the crank was flexing so much it bound up above idle. he just chaned the torque converter and had a good car for $100.
