Thanks for the additional information. As I see it, that means that the vehicle when registered again, must be registered as a historic vehicle.
Further, if registered as a historic vehicle as I recall, it can only be driven to and from parades and service. This is what I recall, but I'm not sure if I've read the actual law on it.
So further again, if you register it in California and don't want to pay all the back "NON-OP" fees, then you must register it as historical, which limits your driving in it (legally). I know you could always be on your way to the shop for service, but there are insurance implications too. I wonder if you can convert it from historical to a usual daily driver registration later on?
