Check it well before installing. Look for sand around any of the bushings, espically down lube holes (where there should be felt). I had my generator destroyed by having it "rebuilt." All they did was sand blast it assembled and paint the whole thing (including data plate) one color. I had to go the bushing way previously mentioned. I pressed my bushing in using a vise.

That was the last time I paid someone to learn how to repair my truck. Teach yourself and keep the cash in pocket (we all need it for gas).
