Don't know about strength and all, but some 20+ years ago my then 11 or 12 year old son went out to help pull over some trees with my 71 W-300 lu-2 winch.
I happend to come home and see the pickup in the air, back bumper chained to a stump and whinch line hooked (about 100')to a tree.
engine at an idle, line getting tighter,
he shut it off, seeing me jumping up and down, waving arms, making strange sounds,
he said whats wrong dad
had to splain without getting mad that he could of broke the line and cut the cab off the pickup with the whip back, and of course that his head would have went with the cab, I have seen the caopy of a D-7 cat removed that way, and the guy WAS a neighbor.
So how many pounds of pull was the winch exerting to get the pickup up in the air,
at an idle in first gear ??
