Could be the output shaft which has a gear on the end of it that has springs inside the gear itself so the center section can move back and forth. These springs get squished and loose their spring so you get the slop. DC in Oregon replaces them with a WWII gear which is solid without the springs. Hard to find part but a excellent upgrade. Give him a call.
