David, Farmers were actually hit pretty hard a few years before the depression. After WW1 Europe could not produce enough food so American Farmers were making a killing. When European farmers got back in the game we had a tough time in 1924-25 I think. By the time 1929 came around I think many farmers were used to bad times. At least this is how it happened to my family.
