I’m going to the beach and will drive a Yukon XL in the sand. I wanted to bring my m37, but the family doesn't fit, and they want AC and power for their ipods and laptops, so I’m stuck with the Yukon, in the sand. Last time I was there (20 years) they had a compressor to air up once you’re back on pavement. Anyone know if they still have air at the trailhead for Great Point? I want to have a compressor with me if I come off sand in other areas that don’t have air available. This is probably a one time thing, so I didn’t want to spend $250 for an on board compressor. So looking at the portable inflators. The 12v models don’t seem to have the capacity for truck tires, or do they? Need air to go up to 35 psi from 10 psi for 4 tires. Cordless rechargables seem to have more capacity, but how long would they hold a charge? And there is the option of using a 120v compressor with a converter and the trucks 12v power. The rechargeable could do that too. But could the converter adequately power a 120v motor for very long? What about portable air tanks? Can they carry enough air for 4 tires – 10 psi up to 35 psi? I’m bringing shovels, planks, jacks, tow straps to be somewhat prepared. A second truck would be nice. My son said let’s lift the truck and put 33’s on, but that’s not happening this week. Thanks.
