The trip went well, My Sister and I arrived at my Moms house at about 5:00 P,M. Friday. The folks who are house sitting helped pack up her stuff and helped load the heavy items. Worked all day Saturday and had the job done by 6:00 P.M.
Ended up giving away one of my Moms dogs to a neighbor and bringing the other one back to Vermont with us. Two adults and a big dog in the cab of the U-Haul made for pretty tight quarters but my Sister was good about keeping "Bear" on her side of the truck.
Arrived home yesterday at Noon and started unpacking into a section of my shop. I am petrified that my other Sisters will grab a few trinkets and leave me with the tons of boxes of "Misc." Hello landfill here I come!
Kept an eye out for the elusive Power Wagon, the only one I saw was the one that is sitting near the Saugerties NY exit on I-87. Didnt look too bad at 65 MPH.
I ended up using a chain and padlock between th brake pedal and steering wheel, it was enough to keep the honest folks away. I am sure a determined thief would have been gone in a flash.
The truck was a big GMC, 36,000 miles. Pretty comfortable and drove well. I did see a Penski rental truck alongside the highway missing both drivers side duals. That had to have been a shock!
Anyway, its great to be home!
