The twin/dual clutch gearbox was invented in the late 1930's.
The modern incarnation with solid state electronics was used by Ferrari about 10-15 years ago.
Borg-warner makes one that is used extensively by VW and will be used on the BMW M3 in 2008.
Still, the possibility of a seven speed behind some Hemi-powered American muscle is exciting indeed!
