You can manually draw the notch and cut it out using a program called 'TUBEMITER'. This is a windows program, very small in size so it can be run from a floppy if need be. You input the measurements and it prints out a paper band that you put around the pipe. You then trace the pattern on the pipe and cut it out. Google 'TUBEMITER' this program is free and available from many different web sites. The guys on the Miller Welding forum seem to like it. I switched to Mac and can no longer run it. Small price to pay for a Mac ha ha.

They also make hole saw notchers that are run in a drill press and clamp vice. But this gets expensive as you have to stock many different sizes of hole saws.

I believe for your use you will find TUBEMITER outstanding.
