Thanks to Gordon Maney for posting the article on the 2005 Mid-Atlantic Power Wagon Rally. Thanks also to Todd and Preston Somers for the write-up and photos. The 2005 and 2006 events were events to remember thanks to the great folks who attended.
This year, as an alternative to a rally, we are planning a Tour of the Potomac Highlands. This will be a point-to-point road rally to some of the most scenic places in West Virginia, including Blackwater Falls State Park, Canaan Valley State Park, Dolly Sods Wilderness Area, Sceneca Rocks Recreation Area, and Spruce Knob (the highest point in WV). We will stay in park lodges and group cabins or campsites. The route is mostly secondary roads with some U.S. Forest Service roads. Tentatively scheduled for Columbus Day weekend (first full weekend in October). I'm open to other weekends suggested by those of you traveling from far away to join us. Should be a good time.
