Maybe I simplified it too much, but I'm just doing the math from the article that I read, government taxes, fees and regulations equals $1.77 per gallon, with gasoline selling at $3.00, less the $1.77 equals $1.23. I have no idea what that the price per barrel includes, do you?
I would assume that some of the regulation cost and taxes are in the crude price, most of them however are in the refined gasoline cost.
I'd suspect that there is no direct corelation between the 42 gallons of crude and the amount of gallons of fuel extracted from same.
Nice try though for attempting to apologize for the bureaucratic bastards........= )
