Go to a marine supply and ask for a small simple device that jams the surge brake unit so it doesn't apply the brakes when in reverse. Should cost $3.00 but you'll probably pay $10.00. I made one with a 1" x 1" x 1/8" piece of stock and bench grinder. Should always keep it with the trailer.
