Talked with a knowledgeable guy at the local rigging supply house a few weeks ago. When buying hooks, chain and shackles, first read and confirm the rated load for the part and purchase by rating _not_ physical size.
Is wire rope the same? I imagine there is a minimum and maximum (physical) size my LU4 drum can safely hold on to. When I rebuild my winch I will have some additional questions to ask when shopping for wire rope.
