I've been chewed out for this before, but may I suggest that you ask a professional about using 3/8" cable rather than the stock 7/16". Yes, it's smaller, but it isn't weaker. In the late 40s to late 60s, metallurgy was nothing like what it is today. With much stronger steels today, the new 3/8" cabel outperforms the older 7/16" and is easier to find and cheaper. So, when Dodge said 7/16" cable, that was because their steel was poor quality and they needed a large cable. Todays higher quality steel is stronger and a slightly smaller cable will suffice. PLEASE, head down to a cable and chain shop before you take my word for it, they always know best. But, just for reference, the guy at Sacramento Cable and Chain agreed with me and said 3/8" was best.

I also have a Warn 12,000lb winch with 3/8" cable.
