Phil's Registry is just starting to get to the point where comparisons can be made and questions can be answered. I have responded to several emails already where I have first consulted the Registry in order to help find answers for fellow enthusiasts. Questions that people have about what changes occurred, or what features or options could be expected to be found on a particular truck, model run, or time period are the normal in what comes to my inbox.

Most people probably do not care if the hacked up '51 B3PW they found to restore originally came equipped with an "Up-to type" or an "After-type" transmission. But to those who do, increased numbers of registered trucks will only aide in helping to make the comparisons needed to verify known information or to fill in the blanks for information missing altogether from the vintage literature.

I am not so sure there will ever be the numbers of people with enough interest to register their trucks so that we can get an accurate number of those that still exist. But, I have seen it already help answer questions to those who tend to have an eye to detail. What I would find exciting would be to see half a dozen trucks registered having consecutive serial numbers. We could then compare options, colors, etc. from of a group of trucks that probably shared the assembly line on the same day. Even better if that group spanned across a key point in time where a major change in body style or mechanical equipment took place.

Thanks Phil for enriching our hobby!
