That's what I'd do. A person could probably even jerry-rig it with the military wire and a lot of electrical tape. High voltage doesn't need a very good connection. Years ago I looked into getting military plugs from NAPA and they said they could get them and they'd be around $10 apiece. You try and see if you can get one locally.
