Good news on the Van getting home safe & sound...they are noisy little buggers.
The only bad news I have for you is that it costs more if you tell them you're scrapping it!
The only fee to bring a pre 1992 US built vehicle into Canada is 6% PST at the Border & 7% GST if you register it but that's paid at your Autoplan outlet.
So if you bring it in as scrap they charge you the full 13% at the border. If you just tell them you're going to register it, they'd have charged you 6% & given you a Form 1. You just throw it out & scrap the van as you'd already planned & you'd have saved 7%!
I do it all the time...did it with the D500 this morning.
