California is a ..what, mutual protperty?... state. Everything belongs to both spouses. Except what don't. The sewing machine IS hers, the pick up truck IS HIS. The mini van is HERS. It's the TV and stereo that gets fought over.
Of course, you'll have to pay your lawyer more than the truck is worth to keep it...
I know, have a friend that she doesn't know offer to buy it from her. I'm sure she will sell it cheap....
