I just wanted to get that clear, and give credit where credit is due.

As for people stealing your trucks serial number and using it for some bad purpose, has anyone ever heard of this happening in the old truck world?

I know with some rare cars people make clones, but in those cases the serial numbers are all listed in books anyway, with histories, etc.

With these old trucks I just can't see what someone would do with your serial number, first name, and state.

I can do more with someones picture of their truck that shows their license plate number.

Maybe I am missing something, but I am unaware of any major risk, and I have never heard of any case where someone was harmed by listing their old truck VIN number online.

Does anyone have any threats they can walk me through? Or an example where someone was harmed by placing their serial number, first name and state online?

I understand being careful, but in this case I just am not seeing the risk.

Eric
