We have a confederate prison near here, Point Lookout. Over 4000 southern soldiers died there. The conditions at the prisons for confederates was very bad, but history only teaches about Andersonville.
The confederate memorial day is around June 10; they have a commemoration at the prison every year by the descendents of prisoners association.
